Now, lets see what I remember most from my English lessons ... :
The Assyrian came down like the wolf on the fold
And their cohorts were shining in purple and gold.
Dirty British steamer with a salt caked smoke stack
There is a time in the affairs of man
Which, if taken at the flood, leads on to fortune
Then there were all the WW1 poets.
The most difficult time for me was switching schools when I had not learned any grammatical terms and my new classmates knew their prepositions from their adverbs. I did feel terribly thick and out of my comfort zone.
