Google Earth shows Hillier Almshouses which appear to be sheltered accommodation for elderly ladies now. Its not clear if this was the location of Henry's home described in the Gazette. I found no "North Corner" in or around Saltash.

Interesting! IT would be lovely if you could find some pics of this man.....as far as I know noone has any as he had died before our Dad was born. His wife, was Dad's 'big granny'. He used to call her that because she was much taller than 'little Granny', his father's mother!
There is a Welsh connection and plenty of informtion on the Saunders Davids family held in the Haverfordwest archives. Unfortunately my aunt and I did not have the time nor the knowledge to research the records in depth when we visited the registry in September last year.
I have amended his place of birth to Colchester Essex.
This follows information from www.genealogics.org where I found a tree belonging to Leo van de Pas who had Henry, his parents and his wife Birgitte information.
