The first Houghton Beach Party took place on Saturday 11 September 2004 and was a great success. The weather gave a new meaning to the term 'changeable'. So we headed for The Deer Leap pub on the seafront in Exmouth, and abandoned the beach option. Uncles, 1st Cousins, 2nd Cousins (whatever they are), nephews and nieces came from far and wide. They had not met for a long time and some had never met at all !After a few hours, Sally (Sally Jeanne daughter of Jonathan Frederick Knight) kindly suggested that we decant to her farm cottage. We sat around drinking and chatting some more. Karla filmed much of the day and conducted personal interviews. We eagerly await the edited version.
